Car Key Replacement — Cut and Programmed at Your Vehicle

Replacement car key being cut and programmed on site in East Yorkshire

The Problem We Solve

Main dealer lead times for replacement keys are frequently measured in days, and the cost is often far higher than customers expect. Many garages will only replace keys if the vehicle can be brought in, adding recovery charges on top. A mobile service removes both obstacles: we come to wherever the vehicle is parked, agree a fixed price up front, and carry out all the work on the same visit.

How the Service Works

  • Call with your vehicle make, model, year and location — we confirm a clear fixed price
  • We attend your vehicle wherever it's parked — home, work, car park or roadside
  • Your vehicle's locks are decoded to determine the exact key cut profile
  • A new key blank is cut accurately on our mobile bench
  • The transponder chip is programmed to your vehicle's immobiliser
  • Remote functions (locking, unlocking, boot release) are synchronised
  • All keys are tested fully — engine starts, doors lock and unlock — before we leave

Vehicles We Cover

We carry blanks and transponder chips covering Ford, Vauxhall, Volkswagen, Audi, BMW, Mercedes, Renault, Peugeot, Citroen, Nissan, Toyota, Honda, Kia, Hyundai, Suzuki, Land Rover, Jaguar, and Volvo among others. This includes traditional blade keys, remote flip keys, proximity smart keys, push-to-start systems, and card-style keys. Both cars and light commercial vans are covered.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does a replacement car key cost?

Prices start from £99 and depend on your vehicle make, model, year and key type. A simple blade key for an older vehicle costs less than a proximity smart key for a newer model. We always give you a clear fixed quote on the phone before setting off — no surprises.

Can you replace a key if I have no working keys left?

Yes — this is one of our most common jobs. Using the vehicle's lock and chassis data, we can cut and program a brand new key even with no working key to copy from. See our dedicated lost car keys page for more detail on the full all-keys-lost process.

Can you delete the old key from my immobiliser?

Absolutely. If you've lost a key or had one stolen, we can erase all previous keys from your vehicle's immobiliser and program only the new key. This is strongly recommended if keys have been lost in a public place.

Do I need to bring my car anywhere?

No — that's the whole point of a mobile service. We come to your home, workplace, car park, or wherever the vehicle is. You don't need to arrange recovery or take time off to visit a dealer.

How long does a replacement key job take?

Most replacement key jobs are completed in 60 to 90 minutes. Proximity smart keys and some higher-security systems take a little longer. We'll give you an honest time estimate when you call.
