Spare Car Keys — Made at Your Home or Workplace While You Wait

The Problem We Solve
Main dealers charge a premium for spare keys and require the vehicle to be brought in during business hours. Many high-street key-cutting shops can copy the blade shape but don't have the equipment to program the transponder chip — which means the key will fit the ignition but the engine won't start. We carry both the cutting machinery and the programming tools, so every spare key we produce is a complete, fully working copy.
How the Service Works
- Call or message to arrange a convenient time — we come to you
- We attend your home, workplace or chosen location
- Your working key is used to establish the exact blade profile
- A new key blank is cut accurately to the same specification
- The transponder chip in the new key is programmed to your immobiliser
- Remote buttons are synchronised to your vehicle's central locking receiver
- Both the original and the new spare are tested — engine starts, doors lock and unlock

Frequently Asked Questions
Will the spare key be a full working copy — chip and remote included?
Yes. We program the transponder chip as well as cutting the blade, so the spare key will start the engine, lock and unlock the doors, and operate any remote buttons. It's a complete working duplicate, not just a key-shaped piece of metal.
How long does it take to get a spare key made?
For most vehicles, cutting and programming a spare key takes around 30 to 60 minutes. Some newer proximity or smart key systems take a little longer. We'll give you a time estimate when you book.
Can I have more than one spare key made at the same visit?
Yes — most vehicles support multiple programmed keys. We can produce two spares on the same visit if needed. Each additional key is priced separately and we'll confirm the total before starting.
Will getting a spare key affect my existing key?
No. Programming a new key to your vehicle does not change or disable your existing key. Both will work independently from that point on.
Is it worth getting a spare key for a van?
Absolutely. For tradespeople and commercial operators, a spare van key is essential. Losing the only key to a Ford Transit or VW Transporter can cost a full day's earnings. A spare made in advance costs a fraction of what an emergency lost key replacement would.
